The Bureau of Library Development administers grant programs to support the establishment, expansion, and improvement of library service in Florida.
- Library Construction Grants
The Public Library Construction Grant program provides funds to remodel or expand existing
public library facilities, or construct new public library facilities.
- Library Cooperative Grants
The Library Cooperative Grant Program provides state funding to multitype
library cooperatives to assist them in meeting the educational and informational needs
of Florida residents by encouraging and assuring cooperation among libraries of all types
for the development of library service.
- Library Services and Technology Act Grants
The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) is a state-based program with a
broad mandate to use technology to bring information to people in innovative
and effective ways, and to assure that library service is accessible to all,
especially those who have difficulty using the library.
- State Aid to Libraries
The purpose of the State Aid program is to encourage local governments to establish
and continue development of free library service to all residents of Florida.
- Community Libraries In Caring (CLIC)
The purpose of the Community Libraries in Caring program is to assist small, rural public libraries to improve library collections and services, improve adult and family literacy and develop the economic viability in targeted counties and communities.
